Thank you

1) Thank you all for your kind words. We did not tell the children what happened since it really does not have anything to do with them and their own classrooms were not touched. The faculty room is with a computer but all else is well or has been restored to its place....I think the bean bags will need replacing.....not too bad.

Anne your story is shocking, I can't imagine what it would be like to see all that blood and expect to have a normal day after that......(you all can read it in the commentaries in my last post)

2) We had a very serious meeting yesterday about funds for next year. With the economy the way it is and with all the extra classes that we have, we may have to cut some things next year.....what that is.....I do not know, but it was a very dreary meeting.

Glad to hear that things are being worked out at the school. The economy truly is affecting all of us these days.

Sorry to hear about your school's misfortune. Anne's school and mine are on in the same so yes it was an unusual event to say the least.
I've posted a tutorial on my blog about hatmaking. I'm sure there must be an easier way to do posting as I can't seem to get the words and pics together on the posting page and even the preview isn't what I see when I publish. I had more photos but they kept disappearing on me too. I probably won't leave this post there as I make part of my living from giving workshops but I guess you won't be coming to any of mine soon! I hope it makes some sense. Can you let me know when you've read it so I can remove it. Pam

The economy is causing changes that put undue stress on people as well.

Our child care program had funding cuts from "up above" by the college who owns us. The center was already short staffed for about 4 months, and after finally hiring a Teacher Assistant and myself as a substitute things had leveled off. Friday, we found out that the Teacher Assistant who just started with me in October was "let go", and I won't be needed very often due to restructuring break schedules for all of the teachers.

When you're talking about a child care program that must also be licensed with the Division of Child Development and uphold certain adult:child ratios, it is almost impossible to juggle being short staffed but keep enough children so that their tuition pays to function. I'm still trying to wrap my mind around it all.

I am so sorry to hear of what happened. I know that we all work so hard to make schools better and when others can't respect that......well, it's just hard to understand. My son is a student at a Public Waldorf Program in CA (we are not a Charter School) and it is very hard to stay in the black, most especially in this economy. We all just have to keep our chins up and keep things as normal as possible for the children. I hope that all goes well for you.
