waldorf 7th grade

Their mainlesson teacher did this chalk board drawing and after 4 days of looking at it they had me for fine arts and in another room they had to paint Africa from memory. I think they turned out very nice.

my younger daughter's birthday celebration at school

The kinder class birthday celebration is beautiful . All the children wear silks for they are the souls that were with the birthday child in the heavenly garden where the star children live. They were once all together and when she (my daughter) came down to earth with her angel they all said "see you soon down on earth"
I had to use really strong mommy powers not to cry during the story that her teacher told.

I have lots of pics, but I can't show them to you because I don't have permission to show pics of the other kids.
Then we had a wonderful snack all together at their snack table.

That's me in woodwork class back in 6th grade

Too funny! A friend just sent this to me on facebook and it just made me laugh. For those who don't know, I am a Waldorf Alumni.....so here I am, the one in the middle. 6th grade! we were making our spoons in woodwork class. I loved our woodwork class because our teacher let us talk as much as we wanted. That still is seems to be an important element in specialty classes.....:)

8th grade quilted hanging for Auction and a bag

This can be a 3rd grade project. my 3rd grader and I experimented with it....super easy! She wet felted the flap and crocheted bag and hand sewn lining......I LOVE WET FELTING!!!! the curl on the end is inspired by a true felting goddess.http://pamdegroot.blogspot.com/ I know ours needs work to look like Pamdegroot's but we are just beginners....we'll get there.

sew up sides

Here is the quilted hanging that the 8th grade made. I think they did a nice job. they each machine sewed 2 squares and other did the assembling. we have some beads on there too....it's nice.

Flu season and rant on my Art history teacher

It's flu season and in our family we are STRONGLY against vaccines....don't even try and convince me Vacs are a good idea....I'll just go ballistic on you. So we had a week of us all being sick....and it's spring break. so now it's Saturday and I am no longer sick and I am thinking...."so now I am well, let's get started with our vacation!" No just luck!

I also just took a Art History quiz and it was full of trick questions...AHHHHHHH I am soooo pissed off!!!! I needed to vent this.... I just want to curse and swear (I won't cause I don't have a potty mouth) But I WANT TO! I hate stupid teachers! ahhhh, never do that to your students! don't trick them and think that by tricking them with stupid words you will be able to teach them something.....especially in art!

ahhhh!!!! can you tell I am pissed off.....

I am sure I will delete this rant in the morning.....

Do you remember that gnome Julia was just felting? Well we made 3 each (julia and I) and we are off to hide them in random places for kids to find. So walk with us through campus......
This is a lecture building.
This is the bridge that divides Sunbridge and the Springvalley campus. They call the sunbridge side "Brook Side". In the summer the camp director puts hundreds of arrow heads in the brook for the kids to find.
Julia is hiding a gnome in the roots of this tree. The yellow building in the back is the Eurythmy school.
Walking up to Spring Valley Waldorf school.
Julia is hiding a gnome in the branches of this tree outside 1st grade.
I hid all my gnome in the Kinder play yard...can you see one in the hole of the log?
