plant dyeing silks for the kindergarten rainbow bridge

Plant dyeing silks has to be one of the most enjoyable arts I know of.

Here is my weekend experiments.

Red onion skin for green
tumeric for yellow
cochineal for orange and tumeric
indigo for blue
indigo and cochineal for purple

Stunning! You did an amazing job. I've never gotten green from red onion skins before. How wonderful! You would love coming to the dye & fiber retreat that we attend each year with www.griffindyeworks.com. :)
