9th grade waldorf basket weaving, main lesson book making etc

This is the first day of basket weaving. Learning the vocabulary of the material and how to use wet reeds.

nice work! what has always fascinated me with basket making is that a machine cannot make baskets- a basket can only be made with real hands!! those felted slippers are super, too.

Great pictures. Did you buy special heavy book board for the book binding? Also is that special fabric or would any heavy fabric work?

oooh, this makes me want to expand into high school handwork! We have a new public waldorf high her in sacramento, I think the first public waldorf high school in US?
What was the book cover made from, it looks like linen...

Yes it is a book binding board from an art store and the fabric is linen.But some kids used cotton silk blend etc

I`m going to bookbinding with my 9th grade, here in Campinas, Brasil. I`m very excited about it. I know they will enjoy it too.
