painting with young children

First grade verse

There's a bridge of wondrous light,

Filled with colours shining bright:

Red and yellow, orange and green,

The Fairest colours ever seen.

Blue and violet, magic rose,

down from Heaven to earth it goes.

followed by the song:

Rainbow fairies come to me,

Dance upon my paper free.

Help to make my painting bright,

Filled with colour, warmth and light.

I took a therapeutic painting class with a very good Waldorf teacher, some days I came out of there feeling so free and absorbed in the world of color, other days I left with a headache and cursing under my breath!! It really is a process of letting go, I can't wait to see your paintings, the posts with the art from last year were amazing.

It is a sad thing when a Waldorf school finds a good teacher and then over burdens them with too big of a course load!! This happened with a good friend of mine who is an amazing music teacher, who also teaches the strings program and upper grades orchestra, festivals coordinator, and oh yea, while your at it could you be the gardening teacher, too? (enough work for three teachers) Not to mention her own children and personal life...and Waldorf schools wonder why they can't keep good teachers?
