Sunbridge college

craft studio is on the first floor...isn't the snow wonderful! this is a very magical place
Dorm house...called holders house

my dorm room
this was the view from my dorm room window . That building is the back of the main office building. it has 2 classrooms, a computer room and the cafe. oh and the admin offices.

ok so here I am!
seeing old friends, smelling the familiar smells of the craft room, ready and open to all that this week will offer.

I spent the night in the dorm last night....It is sooooo nice! my own room, I had my little portable DVD player that I brought with me and i sat on my bed and ate chips and watched a movie and slept really bad cause I wasn't bumping into anyone in bed...and my 7 year old wan't waking me up to go with her to the bathroom in the middle of the night and my 3 year old wasn't asking for a drink of water at 3 in the morning....I slept so bad...
But I love dorm life. I love the sound of people coming and going, the sound of doors and clanking here and there..if you need total quiet....don't stay in the dorm

ANd the food in the cafe here is wonderful!
I'm just so happy to be back and seeing these great friends that are on this journey with me.. we lost 2 students but gained 2 new ones...

now no one is allowed to leave! I HATE when people have to leave...it is such a drain on the group.

AND the snow is beautiful!!!!!!!

I made it!

and it was a very nice flight with a 2 hour layover...
But my girls are at home, I miss them so much!!!! but they are having fun with papa...I think they woke up and had blueberry pancakes.

I, on the other hand, woke up and went sledding with my parents and some friends. I didn't have my girls with me to play with, so I had to drag everyone else out to play with me!!

plant dyeing

I got the bug! yep plant dyeing is sooooo fun!

I have decided that next year we will be doing much more plant dyeing with the kids.

Right now only the 5th grade has plant dyed their yarn to make their lions.

Next year the 5th grade will plant dye for the lion and the mane and the 2nd grade will plant dye their yarn for their gnomes .....I'm so excited!!!!!!!!!!

can you hear me giggling right now :) it's going to be great!

I wonder if I can dye cotton yarn with the 3rd grade.....

Hmmmm, maybe the 3rd grade should dye their wool yarn for their recorder cases......hmmm, yes I think so!

Here in the pot you see Cochineal for the bright pink red and Logwood for the purple

6 days left

Ok so I am leaving for Sunbridge College in 6 days. this is my 2nd time this year going out there and I will be enjoying and soaking up all the good info and vibes for a week of Eurythmy , Geometry, Song, Handwork and ...well and more.

But it puts a pit in my stomach to think about leaving my girls...I already miss them...they are the best!

The red thread

Chinese folklore says when a child is born, invisible red threads extend from the child's spirit and connect to all of the people who will be part of the child's life. As the child grows, the threads shorten, drawing closer those people who are destined to be together.

Yearbook

That's my girl running towards me while I am taking pics for the yearbook. She likes to run full tilt, football style, ram into me with a big hug. She ended up walking around campus with me while I took pictures at lunch time...She was often pulled into shots by older kids who think she is "so cute" ....I have to agree with them...I think she is adorable!

So it is really time to get the yearbook started. so all the 8th graders and five 7th graders are my helpers. I have them each a page to do...we will see what they do with it! they were all excited but a week as passed and only one child is done...yes the total Choleric one
