http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FidORlZzwNs&feature=related
check out this Chinese lantern experience....soooo cool. I wish we could do this at our school
As lantern walk is right around the corner. I started doing paintings and drawings with my girls at home. Here are some pics that my girls have helped to create. The paintings are 3rd grade level and the drawings go with a story(kindergarten level) I told them about Gnomes chasing darkness away.
They will be told the real story of Martinmas on the actual day next week. But for now I am surround our art wall with pics that we did this week.
we all paint and draw...they don't want to show their pics to you today...maybe tomorrow they will share with you.
I of course love to share....so you have to see mine :)
The movie of the sky lanterns is amazing! They are so beautiful! I just don't understand why they're not a fire hazard.
ReplyDeleteI discovered your blog about a month ago and have really enjoyed seeing the projects you do.
I totally agree.
ReplyDeleteI think if we did this in the US we would have to tell the fire department and have it in an area that wasn't too close to the highway etc. Yah, its interesting
Beautiful and inspiring!

I want to make those right now!
ReplyDeleteWow those do look really neat.
ReplyDeleteI love lantern walks! When I was in Switzerland thay had this marvelous festival on Aug 1st where kids carried lit paper lanterns through the town. I just kept thinking, "They'd NEVER let us do this at home!"
ReplyDeleteWonderful lanterns! We just had out lantern walk. And I stupidly brought my camera not realizing that it's a not artifical light thing! Oh, well -next time i'll bring the tripod for a no-flash shot.
