wet on wet painting with 7th grade

This was the painting we did this week. I brought in organic apples and had them paint an apple hanging from a tree. we started with painting a wash of yellow on half the paper and a wash of blue on the upper side of the paper. meeting the colors will create green. this becomes the branch. we add in red. the 3 primary colors make brown. add leaves, apple blossoms and then the apple. great exercise for 7th grade. vale painting is lots of fun. the step back from their work. let it dry and come back for another wash of color to add on layers

  3. This is so beautiful. We are having a difficult time this year with painting. I have a lot of wet-on wet painting ideas and even introduced veil painting to Amelia, but we have some strange ego interaction when we paint. In every other way we get along and she follows my lead for main-lesson work but when we paint, she gets tense and does want to paint with me. I am going to ask a waldorf teacher friend, who is going to visit us, to do a week long painting session with us and see if she can figure out the situation. Its really frustrating. We both love to paint, but I guess not together!

  4. Its beautiful how you start on the diagonal and work from there. Blue meets yellow makes green, very nice start.
